1. Who we are
Baery (“Baery”, “we”, “us”) builds software for independent and home bakers. Many of the best bakes are made in small kitchens by people who run every part of the business themselves: taking orders, planning production, buying ingredients, setting prices and keeping customers happy. Baery exists to make that work simpler.
Baery consists of two closely connected products:
- The Baery app and web console, which Bakers use to run their business day to day; and
- The Baery marketplace, through which Customers find Bakers, order ahead and pay online.
2. Our mission
Our mission is to help independent bakers build sustainable businesses, and to make ordering from them as simple and dependable as ordering from any established shop. We believe that a baker’s time is best spent baking, and that the tools of a professional business should be available to every baker, however small.
For Customers, we aim to provide a trustworthy place to discover bakers nearby, with clear prices, clear lead times, secure payment and a fair process if something goes wrong.
3. What we offer Bakers
The Baery app brings the essential parts of a bakery business into one place:
- Orders — recording, scheduling and tracking orders from every channel, from placement to pickup or delivery;
- Recipes and costing — keeping recipes, calculating the true cost of each product from its ingredients, and pricing with confidence;
- Stock — keeping track of ingredients and what each order requires;
- Customers — keeping a record of customers and their order history.
The app works on the Baker’s own device, including without an internet connection, and keeps its data on that device unless the Baker signs in and enables synchronisation. Bakers who sign in may also manage their business from the Baery web console.
Baery is free to use. Where a Baker chooses to sell through the marketplace, Baery charges a commission of 18% of the price of the goods, and only on marketplace sales. Bakers interested in selling may review the seller requirements or visit Sell on Baery.
4. What we offer Customers
Through the Baery marketplace, Customers may:
- find registered Bakers by area, and browse their shops and products;
- order ahead, in line with the notice each Baker requires, for pickup or delivery;
- pay securely online by card or e-wallet through Baery’s payment provider, Xendit;
- follow each order’s progress under Orders; and
- report a problem within twenty-four (24) hours after an order is received, under a published Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Baery does not charge Customers a service fee. Baery’s commission is paid by the Baker out of the price of the goods.
5. Trust and verification
Baery lists only Bakers that are registered businesses in their jurisdiction. In the Philippines, this includes registration of the business and registration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue, as the law requires of online sellers. Baery verifies each Baker’s registration before the shop is listed, and each shop page displays the Baker’s registered business name.
Each Baker is the seller of its own products. The Baker prepares and fulfils each order, and issues the official invoice or tax receipt for the sale. Baery provides the marketplace, processes payment on the Baker’s behalf and assists in resolving any problem with an order.
6. Business registration
Baery is a registered business in the Republic of the Philippines:
- DTI Registered — registered with the Department of Trade and Industry; and
- BIR Registered — registered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
7. Data privacy
Baery processes personal information in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173 (the Data Privacy Act of 2012), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and the issuances of the National Privacy Commission. Details of the information we collect and how it is used are set out in our Privacy Policy.
