1. About these terms
These terms apply whenever you order from a shop on the Baery marketplace. They sit alongside the terms of service, which cover your account and use of Baery generally, and the refund and cancellation policy, which covers what happens when an order is cancelled or goes wrong.
2. Who you are buying from
Every shop on Baery is run by an independent baker. When you place an order, your contract of sale is with that baker. The baker makes the product, is responsible for its quality and safety, and issues your official invoice. Baery runs the marketplace: we list the shops, take payment for the order, pass the order to the baker, and handle reported problems.
We only list bakers who are registered businesses in their country. In the Philippines that means business registration and BIR registration, which the law requires of online sellers. We check each baker’s registration before their shop goes live, and our payment provider verifies their identity separately. The shop page shows the baker’s registered business name.
3. Listings and prices
- Bakers write their own listings: product names, photos, descriptions, sizes, flavours, prices, notice periods, and pickup or delivery areas. Photos show the baker’s work, but handmade goods vary a little from one bake to the next.
- Prices are in Philippine pesos and are set by the baker. The price is confirmed at the moment you pay. If a baker changes a price after you pay, it does not affect your order.
- Allergens and ingredients: if you have an allergy or dietary requirement, confirm with the baker before you order. Many home bakeries work with nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat and soy in the same kitchen.
- If you see a listing that looks wrong, unsafe or unlawful, tell us at support@baerymarket.com.
4. Placing an order
- Choose your items, then pickup or delivery and a date and time the shop’s notice period allows.
- Check your order summary: items, subtotal, any delivery fee, and total.
- Pay. Your order is placed only once the payment succeeds. It then goes straight to the baker, and you can follow it under Orders.
A baker may cancel an order they can’t fulfil, for example if an ingredient is unavailable or the date is no longer possible. If they do, you are refunded in full, as the refund and cancellation policy explains.
5. Payment
- Every marketplace order is paid in full, online, when you place it, by card or by the e-wallets and other payment methods shown at checkout. There is no cash on delivery and no pay-later option.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider, Xendit. You enter your card details on Xendit’s secure page or approve the payment in your wallet. Baery never sees or stores your full card number.
- The charge on your statement shows the baker’s registered business name. Please check the name on your order before you dispute a charge you don’t recognise.
- Baery does not add a service fee to what you pay. Baery’s commission is paid by the baker out of the price of the goods.
6. Pickup and delivery
Pickup: collect your order at the time and place the baker gives on your order. If you can’t make it, contact the baker as early as you can. Their number is on your order. Freshly baked goods can’t be held for long, and an order that isn’t collected may not be refundable.
Delivery: bakers who deliver book the courier themselves and charge one delivery fee, shown before you pay. The fee goes to the baker in full to cover the courier. The baker is responsible for getting your order to the address you gave, in good condition. Please make sure the address and mobile number on your order are correct and that someone can receive it. A delivery that fails because of a wrong address or because no one was there to receive it may not be refundable.
7. Receipts and invoices
Your order on Baery, under Orders, confirms what you ordered and paid. It is a record of your order and payment, not a tax invoice. The baker, as the seller, issues the official invoice or receipt Philippine tax rules require. If you need one, for example for business expenses, ask the baker.
8. When something goes wrong
For 24 hours after your order is picked up or delivered, you can open it under Orders and choose Report a problem, for example if something was missing, the wrong item, poor quality, or never arrived. The baker responds first, and Baery then decides. The refund and cancellation policy explains the steps and timelines.
After 24 hours, contact the baker directly, or write to us at support@baerymarket.com with your order number. The 24-hour window is how Baery’s own process works. It does not take away any rights you have under Philippine consumer law.
9. Reviews
Once you have received an order, you can leave one review for it. Reviews must be about your own experience of that order and must be honest. We don’t edit reviews, and bakers can’t remove them. We only take a review down if it breaks the terms of service, for example if it is abusive, contains someone’s personal information, or isn’t about a real order.
10. What bakers promise you
Every baker on Baery has agreed to:
- make what their listing describes, safely and hygienically, and fulfil orders they accept;
- tell you promptly if they can’t fulfil an order, and cancel rather than leave you waiting;
- issue you the official invoice or receipt the law requires;
- use your details only to prepare, hand over or follow up on your order;
- respond to problems you report and refund you when a refund is owed.
11. Your part
- Give accurate order details: name, mobile number, delivery address and any instructions.
- Be available to collect or receive your order at the time you chose.
- Treat bakers and couriers with respect.
- Use Report a problem or contact us before going to your bank. A chargeback takes weeks longer than a refund, and we would rather fix the problem for you directly.
